Library Day in the Life Project

The Library Day in the Life Project is a semi-annual event often coordinated by Bobbi Newman  of Librarian by Day. Twice a year librarians, library staff and library students from all over the globe share a day (or week) in their life through blog posts, photos, video and Twitter updates.

Whether you are a librarian or library worker of any kind, help us share and learn about the joys and challenges of working in a library. Join us by sharing details of your day for a week on your blog..Not only is this a great way for us to see what our colleagues are doing and how they spend their days but it’s a great way for students who are interested in the library profession to see what we really do.

Any one who works in a library can participate. You may share your day (or week) on your blog, Twitter, Flickr and/or YouTube (or any other way you choose). If you have none of these don't worry, just create a new page in the wiki and post your day there. Once you decided on your format(s)

  1. Create a PB Wiki account (it's free)!
  2. Edit this page (do not steal the lock from someone else!) BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE OR EDIT ENTRIES OF OTHERS.
    1. Add your name
    2. Your job title (so we can see what you do at a glance)
    3. Type of library or company and the name of it if you like
    4. Your location
    5. A link to your blog, Twitter, Flickr and/or YouTube account.
    6. When you are done hit SAVE, so that someone else may edit the page.
  3. Start capturing your day!
  4. For bloggers:
    1. Include your job title and the type of library you work in at the beginning of your post.
    2. Explain why you're capturing your day and link back here, to the wiki.
  5. Bloggers, Flickr & YouTube users tag your posts with the appropriate tag for your round
  6. After your first post come back and add a  link directly to your tagged posts or photos or video.
  7. Add your Flickr photos or videos to the Group on Flickr and/or join the Facebook Page.
  8. Follow along!
    1. Twapper Keeper
    2. Netvibes page
