Queen of the Library

I call myself Queen of the Library because I am a lone librarian in a small town located on an Indian reservation in Minnesota. Although part of a large regional library system, I am the sole employee (except for my subs) here at my branch. Open 32 hours a week, I serve a community of just over one thousand people. I work Tuesday through Saturday, weeknights to either six or eight in the evening. It's a very demanding job -- really a person-and-a-half position -- that I love very much. From reference to planning summer reading programs, school visits, storytimes and storytime-to-go, adult reading programs, and next fall having movie nights, my little branch stays very busy.
